Wedding planning can be fun, but when you are pushed into a corner by restaurants and reception halls and wedding planners who want you to choose standard packages that everyone uses, you can sometimes feel like your dream is, well, someone else’s dream. Where can you show your own individuality? Your wedding chair covers are a good start!

Your wedding is your wedding. It’s not meant to be a clone of every wedding held at a certain hall. Unfortunately, that’s usually the case. You’ll be lucky to pick out your songs and your menu. So, this could be the perfect time to add your touches via some color or fabrics that are “you” through and through. If your favorite color is magenta, or if all your clothes are made of denim, then bring all that to the party!

Of course, what you want is probably not readily available at your local party store – unless you want to settle on white, used, and boring. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, right? But certainly not for your wedding!

It doesn’t even have to be subtle – it could be all over your reception hall. Your linens, dresses, flowers, and even the frosting on your cake can all be magenta!

Your wedding planner can’t find them you say? Then make them! Chair covers are one of the easiest decorations to make – anyone who push a pedal on a sewing machine can put together a chair cover. To save some money, make only chair backs. These are typically for square back chairs and you have probably seen them mainly used for festive occasions and holiday decorations with pumpkins or snowmen on them.

They can be simple, with material only, or decorated with flowers, initials or even pearls.
